This is Simple Machines. In ancient Egypt they used simple machines like you and i do today. I will tell you all six of them. Simple Machines in case you didnt know are easy tools you use to fix things or put things together. Below you will find all of them and see how Egyptians used them.
Pulley- A pulley was used to help the ancient egyptians take big boulder rocks and proceed building pyramids. Back then if you wanted your pyramid to be big you needed big rocks which meant heavy rocks. No one man nor woman can lift a boulder rock. Therefore, they need these pulley's. They would put a wheel at the top. You would pull one side and the other side goes up. They'd put the rock at the other end then pull pull pull. When it reaches where it needs to be they're done with that one rock.

Pulley's Were Very Useful
Screw - In ancient Egypt they used screws to put together things just like we do. Screws aren'nt necessarily machines but they are tools. Egyptians used them to keep the pulley's down on the floor. Also, the inclined planes. Without the screws the planes and pulley's would rise up every time you used it or tired to use it. Saying that, they used screws VERY often and NEEDED them whenever continueing building pyramids.

Inclined Planes(ramps) - Ancient Egyptians used inclined planes to put the big rocks on. It would take plenty of strong people to just push these big boulders on the planes. It wasn't easy as you know. These ramps weren't the strongest because obviously ancient Egyptians didn't have the most durable things. There were, clearly, inclined planes breaking from left to right. Also, you spend so much time trying to put a big rock on a plane and then for it to break would be the worst thing that could happen. They would push push push so the rocks can get up the ramps then attatch it to the end of the pulley because lifting would sometimes injure or break your back. Even with help.

Lever- A lever is like a seesaw. Ancient Egyptians used it to put rocks on it and push it so they wouldn't have to carry it. Lever's are tilted which made it easier for the Egyptians to roll big boulders onto it.

Wedge- A wedge is something used for cutting, very sharp like a knife. Ancient Egytpians used wedges to cut their food. Back then if you had a family and didn't have all that much money you need to cut whatever food that you have to share with your needy family. Otherwise without wedges they had no way of dividing meals unless they bit it which would lead to arguement because you teeth don't cut too evenly. Even though there wasn't that much argueing because they were so happy that they had something to eat there were few loud discussions. Also, having starving people would lead to jelously and if you did'nt want to share you might not have anything to eat AT ALL!! So, saying that, sharing was and important factor and sharing evenly was even more important.

Wheel and Axle- Ancient Eygptians used wheel and axle's to put big boulder rocks in. The workers would pull the wheel and axle and bring to to where ever they needed it.
